Sofía Perla was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in South Central Los Angeles by immigrant parents from Tlaltenango, Zacatecas, Mexico.  She became a teen mother at 16 and was no stranger to the challenges of growing up in a tough neighborhood. As the oldest of five children, she learned responsibility at an early age, an experience she believes helped shape her natural leadership abilities.  Determined to create a better future, Sofía refused to allow her circumstances to define her path. She graduated from high school with her two-year-old in tow and was one of only a few students to receive an academic scholarship. Sofía lives a life of zero excuses. She will encourage you, pray for you, and lovingly remind you to get back to work.

She began her career in the lending industry in 2001 and transitioned into real estate sales ten years later. In 2006 she obtained her Real Estate Sales Person License and in 2007 she became a Licensed Real Estate Broker by the California Department of Real Estate. Over the years, she earned a degree in Business Management and an MBA, becoming one of the most respected professionals in her field. Today, Sofía is an award-winning real estate broker, investor, entrepreneur, international speaker, business mentor, and the owner of several successful businesses.

In 2018, Sofía founded Keller Williams Realty The Lakes in Lake Elsinore, California. Together with her husband, she owns and leads multiple businesses, including KW The Lakes, Laguna Property Management, Clearwater Capital Mortgage, Lago Escrow, and their real estate team, Unstoppable Living. She continues to actively serve buyers, sellers, investors, and commercial clients while leading and developing other real estate professionals. And yes, she is probably already thinking about her next business idea.

Sofía has been recognized by The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends among the top 1,000 real estate agents in America multiple times throughout the past decade.

At 36, Sofía survived a life-changing LAD heart attack, commonly known as a “widow maker.” The widow maker picked the wrong woman. That experience deepened her commitment to faith, health, purpose, and leadership. Today, she dedicates her time to mentoring and empowering women through her mastermind group, Crown Society.

Sofía believes that hands that are not open to give are not open to receive. Her faith is the foundation of everything she does, and she strongly believes in tithing, serving others, and giving back. Since 2014, she has supported an orphanage in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico, and was recently recognized as one of the donors who helped make a new nursery building possible.

She also volunteers in the children’s ministry at her church several times each month and serves alongside her husband in the Hospital Visitation Ministry, offering prayer, encouragement, and support to patients and their families.

At the heart of Sofía’s life is her family. She is married to the love of her life, Arlen Perla, and is the incredibly proud mother of two amazing children. Her daughter, Jay, is a U.S. Navy veteran, successful REALTOR®, and entrepreneur. Her son, Stephen, is the owner of a media company and a soon-to-be graduate of Pepperdine University. Their accomplishments are among her greatest blessings and proudest achievements.

Sofía is a proud LATINA, devoted wife and mother, first-generation college graduate, and passionate advocate for education, homeownership, entrepreneurship, generational wealth, and women’s empowerment.
